Yoga Teacher Training

At some point I remember saying something along the lines of "oh don't worry, this isn't going to be a blog about how I moved to Portland and found myself doing yoga".

Well I guess we have to throw that out of the window now, because its officially happened.

I'm currently mid way through my yoga teacher training to become a Yoga Alliance registered teacher! This weekend we are taking our anatomy class, which is proving harder than I anticipated.

I'm so excited to share more of my yoga adventures as my journey progresses!

Returning! With some comfy wedding shoes c/o Nike

Well that was exhausting!

I'm just returning after a little wedding hiatus. TJ and I were in England & Greece for our church blessing & honeymoon, respectively.

While we wait for the professional pics to come back, here is one of my faves from the day...

After the ceremony in the church I changed into these Nike shoes for the reception. They were super fun and colorful - the orange a nice surprise. The added bonus of course is that they kept me on the dance floor until the wee hours because they were so comfortable!

Local Honey and Allergies

I've been sneezing up a storm lately and as beautiful as the spring flowers are in Portland they also seem to bring a lot of pollen. I'm not usually one to get hayfever, but apparently these days I am affected by the pollen here in the Pacific North West.

I recently read that local honey can help, so I went to the co-op in the NW area of Portland see what I could find.

So far its been a rather delicious addition to my yogurt and TJ has been enjoying it on hot buttered toast!

The Eurasian Diaries: The Actual Chinese Supermarket in Portland!

After what seems like weeks of research I have found a proper Chinese Supermarket!

It requires some patience and driving, but when you get there you are definitely rewarded.

These Dan Tarts were soft and fluffy and just fantastic having been denied good Cantonese treats for so long. I feel like even in NY you could struggle to find a good puff pastry style egg custard tart. There are a lot of imposter short crust cases that just don't seem to be quite right. 

Don't worry about that. Here in Portland, they have a delightful warm and flaky crust.

Horsetail Falls Loop Hike

This weekend's rainy adventure was hiking in the  Columbia River Gorge again!

TJ's sister had come up from LA to visit and we took her on a new hike.

There are just so many gorgeous things to see. This one was no exception.  This pic is taken as we walk under the pony tail falls.
